- We experienced sustained winds of 20-25 knots overnight when we moored here on the W side of the jetty. Luckily we had taken the precaution of a bow line onto one of the few bollards, so were able to rest easy (!). The wind, which kicked in at sunset, had still not abated by 0800 the following morning, so we had to extract our lines with great care to avoid them snarling up in the bits of reinforcing rod we had tied onto. Once out of the bay there was no wind, which shows that this is a very localised phenomenon. --Athene of Lymington
